CDYSL and ENYYSA is committed to providing all youth of this region the full opportunity to grow and develop in skill and the love and enjoyment of the game of soccer.  Part of this commitment is to takes steps to ensure the safety of the participants.  As administrators, coaches, referees, and parent volunteers, we are responsible for providing a playing environment that is healthy, non-threatening, and free from emotional, physical, or sexual abuse.

Abuse prevention is now an integral part of our roles as youth soccer administrators, coaches, referees, volunteers, and parents. We do this not just because it’s the law, but because it’s the right thing to do.

Eastern NY Soccer and CDYSL therefore require that every adult, who may have the opportunity to have direct and unmonitored access to children must complete:

• SafeSport Training – U.S. Soccer Federation training course or refresher course- yearly
• A comprehensive Background Check - every two years; and
• Heads Up CDC Concussion Awareness Training - every two years 

Any player who is 18 years old and older, OR who is TURNING18 DURING the CURRENT seasonal year, MUST complete the SafeSport training, which is accessible in the PLAYER'S GotSport account dashboard. Click here for specific instructions

ENY SafeSport expiration date is July 1 to ensure all coaches are cleared for the upcoming season.

Year 1- SafeSport Trained - U.S. Soccer Federation

Year 2 - Refresher 1 - Recognizing and Reporting Misconduct

Year 3 -  Refresher 2 - Preventing Misconduct

Year 4 - Refresher 3 - Creating a Positive Sports Environment

Year 5 - SafeSport Trained - U.S. Soccer Federation (again)

Starting December 2025, U.S. Soccer will begin Tracking SafeSport compliance directly in the Learning Center for all Licensed Coaches.  To maintain your license in good standing, you'll need to complete or link your annual SafeSport training.

If you SafeSport training is not up to date, your coaching license will show as "Suspended" in the Learning Center until the requirement is met.

It is easy to update:

1. Log in t the Learning Center Safe Soccer platform.  If you are up to date with your SafeSport training, great! You are all set until next annual renewal
2. Complete, renew, or link your SafeSport training if it is not up to date in the Learning Center.  Instructions to link your SafeSport training can be found by log in here or visit  SafeSport website and follow the directions below.

• Click on the top right menu, then click Transcript
• Under certificates, download your active SafeSport cerfificate
• After retrieving your certificate, log into the Learning Center and navigate to your profile
• Under Safety Certificates, click "I've already done SafeSport" and enter in/paste your code

3. That's it - your license stays active and compliant!
